One of the many benefits of living in property in Elimbah is the wealth of entertainment and cultural facilities that are close by – and they are about to get even better.
Locals have been given a closer look at Queen's Wharf Brisbane, which will make use of a government quarter, transforming it into the city's newest leisure destination.
Deputy premier Jeff Seeney explained that two design concepts have now been submitted for consideration, potentially creating thousands of jobs during construction and once the site is operational.
"We have a once in a generation opportunity to revitalise this area to create a destination that not only attracts international visitors to our city, but also opens it up for the people of Brisbane to enjoy," Mr Seeney noted.
A final decision is expected to be made during the first half of next year, as the proposals are scrutinised to see just how feasible they will be.
Local people have also been given a sneak peek so they know what to expect once the site is up and running.
Mr Seeney acknowledged that there's still a way to go before the financial aspects of the proposals can be finalised, but there is every hope that Queen's Wharf will become a reality.
