Two exhibits that officially open 29 April 2014 are drawing more attention to the Caboolture Regional Art Gallery and those with Caboolture real estate may be interested in dropping by to see the shows.
The first of these exhibitions, the annual National Photographic Portrait Prize, aims to showcase contemporary portraits taken by both established and aspiring Australian photographers. The winner of the competition will receive a $25,000 prize from the National Portrait Gallery.
The second exhibition, Head.Wear, showcases a variety of hats from different historical collections and explores the cultural, religious and fashion statements made by headwear, as well as the detailed technique involved in hat design.
Art lovers, amateur photographers and those curious about headwear from around the world can see the portraits and hats on display from 29 April through 5 July. The shows are family friendly, and could allow parents to expose their kids to the world of art and inspire their children’s own creativity.
The Head.Wear and National Photographic Portrait Prize shows could also be a draw for Caboolture residents who are hosting out-of-town visitors, looking for a new activity to try or just want to take a look at some of the contenders for this year’s prize.
