It is expected that the new scheme will be adopted by Council in late 2014 following the public display and final approval from the Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning.
All residents will have an opportunity to provide feedback on the draft Planning Scheme during consultation which will be held very soon.
VIDEOS describing the vision and strategic framework for the new planning scheme are available on Council’s website alongside a flyover of the region and introduce the 13 place types being used in the drafting of the new scheme.
5 KEY MESSAGES from the draft Strategic Framework are:
- Moreton Bay jobs for Moreton Bay residents, providing land for a greater diversity of jobs;
- Diversity of places, including walkable and safe neighbourhoods;
- Integrated transport; with an increased focus on active and public transport;
- Networks of healthy natural areas;
- Affordable infrastructure.
These key messages form the core basis for the drafting of the codes and planning policies. To find out more about the new scheme visit our website.
