How big should your Caboolture home loan deposit be?

By James Brown

One of the first components of investigating houses for sale in Caboolture is figuring out how much of a home deposit you'll need to save up to successfully secure a home. Speaking with a local finance provider could give you some insight into the market, but doing your own research can help streamline the process and aid your initial investment.

The general rule of thumb when it comes to a home loan deposit is 20 per cent of the property's value. According to realestate.com.au, the median price for houses in Caboolture is $305,000 – which works out to a home loan deposit amount of $61,000.

And if you're interested in Caboolture units – which have recorded a median price of $215,000 – then you're looking at an average home deposit figure of $43,000. Of course, actual prices may vary, but having this basic idea of the values in the Caboolture community can give you a rough guideline for your saving efforts in the future.

Speaking with a local real estate agent and getting some specific insight into the market you're interested in will be extremely beneficial to your planning and budgeting, so be sure to get in touch with one as soon as possible.
