Social media technology is sweeping the nation and quickly becoming one of the main drivers of culture and communication. Everywhere you look, people have their smartphones out texting, chatting and snapping away – and now residents of Caboolture real estate are being invited to take part in the world's largest Instameet on 4 October.
The event is being coordinated by Tourism and Events Queensland, where people are invited to snap and share photos of Redcliffe Jetty and Ocean View Estates Winery across a number of social media networks, including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
Morton Bay Regional Council's Councillor Brian Battersby said this was great opportunity to advertise the region as an area for tourism, with people able to use the hashtags #thisisqueensland, #brisbaneanyday and #visitmoretonbay to advertise their community.
"What better way to showcase the great scenery, food and people of the Moreton Bay Region than through the lenses of its visitors and residents," said Mr Battersby in a 29 September statement.
"In addition to using the hashtags, tag your whereabouts using Instagram's location function and show your friends, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter why We've Got It All."
This could be a wonderful event to be a part of, helping to push the local community to the world and show people from across the globe what they're missing out on in Morton Bay.
