Deciding which type of property in Bellmere to buy isn't always easy, and the options available to you could change sometime in the near future.
Master Builders Australia (MBA) explained that high-density dwellings are becoming more common across the country, which may see more being constructed in the near future.
Commenting on the latest building approvals data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), the MBA's chief economist Peter Jones noted that the construction landscape is changing.
"The 17.2 per cent seasonally adjusted rise for other dwellings (units and apartments) confirms the changing face of dwelling demand as higher density living becomes increasingly accepted," Mr Jones said.
He believes the next 18 months will prove a real turning point for the industry, as more jobs are created and opportunities for buying different property types increase.
ABS figures show that on a national basis, the total value of approved building work declined 0.7 per cent in November and has now been falling for the past year.
Residential building work was down 0.5 per cent, which compared to a 1 per cent fall in the value of non-residential construction activity.
