Getting around Caboolture is about to get even easier, as construction of the new Brown Street Bridge officially gets underway.
The project, which is costing in the region of $9million to complete, will provide yet more infrastructure to the area, as well as make it easier to get around.
"When complete in June 2015 Brown Street Bridge will link communities north of Lagoon Creek directly with the Caboolture CBD and help to ease congestion," said division three councillor Greg Chippendale.
The first of 112 girders have already been installed at the site and work will continue in January to lower the remainder into place before introducing the concrete barriers and bridge deck.
Each girder measures at 24 metres and weighs 24 tonnes, showing the extent of the job that lies ahead.
