Joining a community group is a fun way of meeting new people and getting out of the house for activities and socialisation – staples of a happy, healthy lifestyle. Good news for these groups across the Moreton Bay region, as the council recently announced the opening of applications for community grants.
Any community, sporting or cultural groups interested in securing funding in the future should look into applying. Mayor Allan Sutherland stated that these applications need to be in by 31 August.
"The Community Grants Program provides financial assistance to community projects which benefit our community. Depending on the category, grants of up to $15,000 are available," said Mr Sutherland in a 15 August statement.
"Eligible groups can apply for assistance under one of the program's five categories which includes facility development, interest free loans and community events."
Over the last round of funding, 49 applicants were successful in applying for their share of almost $263,000. This could be extremely beneficial for residents of Caboolture real estate, with the expansion of local groups highlighting a key part of community development heading into the future.
