Christmas by the Sea is just around the corner

By James Brown

There are plenty of ways to mark the festive season while living in property in Bellmere, but this year's Christmas by the Sea event could be well worth a look.

Due to be held at Scarborough Beach Park on 6 December, the festivities get underway at 2 pm and will include a whole six hours of entertainment.

You can expect to find everything from musical performances to a street parade, fireworks to the official lighting of the region's Christmas tree.

The street parade will get underway at 4 pm, starting at Landsborough Avenue, while the stage programme is due to start at 4:50 pm.

Make sure you're around for the grand finale at 8 pm when the Maddies Hermans Century 21 fireworks will light up the skies.

"Swap snow for sand and take part in an afternoon packed with gifts of fun, activities and events," said division five councillor James Houghton.
